This app deserves a negative rating. There's no way in hell that I am able to setup an account to sign in on the website, my phone, or the Roku TV app. It automatically asks for a ViewLocal email address and password before you can access the app. Whomever designed/developed this app needs to consider the setup option for all platforms (website, tablet/phone, and TV).
Application is terrible. Program menu will not come up. I can only watch one channel, and it's not one I like to watch. I can't get support help on screen. The worst application ever. Edit 11/3/21. Program menu still not working. Still worst app ever.
This app works great! There are a few caveats that the end user needs to be aware of. 1. This service must be offered by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). 2. In most cases, the ISP has specific equipment that must be used for this service. In my area that meant a specific router (provided by them) and devices with the app installed (provided by me) 3. The ViewLocal service is ISP ACCOUNT SPECIFIC so it will only work when connected to the HOME NETWORK that the specific ISP ASSIGNED router is connected to. View Local is not a TV viewer when you are out and about, like in a doctors waiting room, or when you are travelling.
This app used to work fine but now I can no longer use the fullscreen mode neither on my phone nor my tablet. Fullscreen is a necessity for TV viewing. It's really disappointing that it no longer works!!!
This app royally sucks. I love out in the boonies and unless I switch to cable my internet provider says I need to use this app... Keeps buffering about every 2 mins and I don't have a problem with ANY of the other streaming services I use"
