The Insects - Orchidaceae play online

This application aims to assist in the taxonomic identification of insects associated with the Orchidaceae family, by providing an electronic dichotomous key with images to assist in identification. As well as for information regarding the main groups related to this culture. The recognition of these insects may indicate the occurrence of pests associated with these plants, as well as the recognition of natural enemies that may act in biological control. Thus, in addition to providing up-to-date scientific and technological information, this application seeks to enhance taxonomic activities. This mobile device was developed by the graduate student in Agronomic Engineering Rebeca Santisma de Jesus Almeida, under the guidance of Professor Geni da Silva Sodr and having as collaborators the doctoral student Ana Catia Santos da Silva, professors Carlos Alfredo Lopes de Carvalho and Rogrio Marcos de Oliveira Alves and researcher Cerilene Santiago Machado. The data presented refer to the research project Pest population survey and occurrence of natural enemies associated with the cultivation of orchids in different environments, linked to the Graduate Program in Agrarian Sciences and the INSECTA Research Group of the Federal University of Recncavo da Bahia (UFRB), with the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPQ) and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).
