interface is fairly simple and limited (no hints or option to show errors) and the practice zone is a little confusing to navigate, but there's probably the most sudoku variations you can find in app and so far no pop up ads so I'm a fan one problem I found is that when doing a jigsaw variation when I put a number in it automatically erases the notes of that number as if it was on a 9x9 grid instead of the jigsaw, so I make major errors because of it and then have to start over
I love the number of variants it has, it's really unparalleled in terms of the apps I've tried. However my biggest grievance is that I can't save my practice games. Another would be that I don't like how I can't see the sudoku board lines when highlighting notes
I was one of the first players on the site when it started a few years ago and have been regularly solving since then. I downloaded the app only now. And I must say Sudokumaniacs is the best sudoku site/app I have seen. It gives me my daily double-shot (classic and variant) which helps me take on the day's challenges. When I want to practice a particular variant, I find it easy to find them in the practice puzzles. Kudos on the beautifully handcrafted puzzles.
Amazing app, supports many variants of Sudoku and after the last upgrade the interface is much better. You can search in the archive and filter by the type of Sudoku variant, difficulty and date and it highlights the ones you already completed. One improvement point would be to support two types of marks, corner and center. This will allow the technique of distinguishing if a mark is referring to possible positions in a box or possible numbers in a cell (see Cracking the cryptic youtube channel)
The app provides a platform for improvement. Apart from one classic sudoku, a variant sudoku is posted each day...which helps in practising variety of sudokus. Moreover, the score list helps a candidate get an insight as to where he/she stands when compared to others thereby nurturing healthy competition !'
