SONAR play online

In this app you can draw lines on the screen with your finger and thus create a specific sound. The tones come from a repertoire of individual sounds and short improvisations recorded by the SONAR Quartet.

The musicians of the SONAR quartet made small drawings for all of these tones, which were used to train the software to combine drawings and tones. Many different criteria are recorded for this: How jagged, round, straight, short or long are the lines, how quickly were they drawn, how small or large are the distances between points and lines, do the lines cross or are they very orderly and parallel? in what time was the entire drawing created, and more.

The resulting artificial intelligence can also translate drawings back into matching sounds. In this way, a score is drawn in an intuitive way, which is set to music in real time.
