The stigma of mental health comes from those who do not understand what these mental illnesses are , their symptoms and their seriousness. Societal stigma often seeks to terrorise individuals exhibiting traits of mental illnesses. The role of proper mental health awareness is vastly underplayed by a majority of the population and therein lies the fundamental problem. Unlike physical illnesses and disabilities , persons with psychological and cognitive difficulties are perceived by the public to be in control of their disabilities. The first step towards breaking this stigma is by increasing awareness.

Running Towards Mental Health is a simple 2D infinite runner game that attempts to teach about mental health. The player jumps over obstacles that resemble mental health issues , the players score is measured through happiness and collecting love falling from the sky acts as a power up and increases the players happiness. Upon crashing the player is presented with a brief explanation about that specific mental health concern.
