Relive the classic 80's arcade experience with Retro Wars Arcade. Inpired by the the hit arcade games of the 80's. You control the rebel starfighter,
your goal is to destroy the enemy Space Station. To do this, you must reach the thermal exhaust port
at the end of the trench and fire torpedos into it.
You must survice three phases of play to reach the exhaust port. The first phase of play will engage you in a
spectacular battle in space. Your goal is too destroy all enemy fighter while dodging fire.
The second phase takes your ship to the surface of the battle station, which is covered with laser bunkers
and laser towers.
The third phase takes you deep into the battle trench. The trench is lined with red laser gun
turrets that fire at you. Avoid the catwalks and the turret fire and shoot the exhaust port
to clear the level.

This really does remind me of the early days of going to the arcade with a couple dollars with a good friend in the late 1970's early 1980's! The controls are simple, but couldn't possibly match those old Star Wars machines! Even so this is still a fun old shooter from the heyday over arcade games!
This is an interesting idea because I used to love this game as a kid, playing it at the arcade. The control system is what I have a problem with here. If my finger has to be right on the firing crosshair then I can't see what I'm shooting and I'm missing most of the action. As other people have suggested, I would go with a tilting flight control and a finger/thumb control in the corner of the screen for firing. Unless and until this is updated I think I'll uninstall it.
would be nice to option use gyro of cell phone orientation to steer xwing fighter like flight simulators use but getting accustomed to touch move and shoot . My best score at the arcade back ago was over 16 million and after 99 waves it stopped counting waves . I was number one until they wiped the scores off . The next hight score was 12 million and something . This phone version is challanging and i am rusty . Right now i cant get passed Wave 5 . Good for alertness and reflexes .. diff muscles
UPDATE REVIEW: 03.04.2021. A.D. GREAT GAME. VERY ADDICTIVE. looks like old one back in the day. also the target scope sometimes goes out of control and game sometimes crashes at the end of game. Says the the "app has stopped". even when im fnished playing. wish screen graphics would be a little better thats. ty.
Very nice controls, really cool retro graphics and progressively more difficult levels to make it not boring. Only complaint would be the ties are hard to hit when they are so fast and small but that kinda makes it more fun.'
