PreventR is provided by Gilead Sciences GesmbH (FN 278577 y) and is intended for use by patients in Austria who have been prescribed a PrEP drug.

The app is intended as a reminder to take medication for Austrian patients who have been prescribed a drug for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) of an infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from an experienced doctor.

Users of the app can set up and use reminder functions for taking tablets, doctor's appointments, prescriptions and quarterly tests (HIV and other sexually transmitted infections). They can also keep a PrEP diary of times of intake, prescriptions and test results. A contact function enables PrEP-related contacts to be saved. The app is secured with a PIN, Touch ID or Face ID (depending on the device).
