The Women Diabetes Prevention Program, PREVENT-D primarily targets women aged 30 to 60
years, who are diagnosed with prediabetes, specifically isolated impaired fasting glucose.
The program aims to facilitate regression to normoglycemia through a culturally
appropriate community-based lifestyle modification program. The program also aims to
reduce the behavioural risk factors for chronic diseases such as unhealthy diet, physical
inactivity, tobacco, and alcohol use; and reduce the metabolic risk factors such as high
blood pressure, high fasting blood glucose, higher waist circumference/ abdominal
obesity, high triglyceride level, LDL, HDL, and total cholesterol
