Comments:
`As previously mentioned, the app plays another ad every time it switches routers or between wi-fi and cellular. Storing a cookie with an expiration upon initial start would be a simple fix for this extremely annoying behavior. The most recent version of the app also regularly starts itself (for no obvious reason AND sucking battery life) and requires a "force stop" to kill the process. Even that doesn't always work, requiring an uninstall/reinstall to fix. VERY POORLY WRITTEN SOFTWARE!!!!!`,The app stops streaming frequently, I don't know if it's a problem with buffering but something is less than efficient with the stream. This isn't great, but what makes it a whole lot more intolerable is that every time the stream restarts it triggers the underwriting message to play again. Which means we miss even more content than we might otherwise. And it happens frequently. A simple change of having the message play only within say a minute of launching the app or switching stations would make listeners much happier, even if it still suffers from occasional buffering. Users are frustrated because it seems like member-supported public radio is just drenched in advertisements, and it's not a good look.
`It's great having all the stations in one place. However, the app is not capable of keeping devices awake. Unlike several other streaming apps I have used. This means to keep listening one needs to set their device's display to "always on" to use the app without it cutting out. A giant pain in the butt. The devs should be able to do better than that.`,The app needing to stop the broadcast to deliver an ad is the single most infuriating functionality ever developed in an app. Listening to anything is impossible. It doesn't matter if I'm using a wifi connection or mobile data. I would be willing to pay $10 to have an app that plays an ad one time when it is opened, and then never again until I reopen the app. It is entirely unusable in the state it is in, and until an update is sent through, I'll be using a different app to stream MPR.
`I use this app probably 4 days per week to listen to the MPR morning news. It worked great until my device (Samsung Galaxy S9) was updated to Android 9. Since then it "crashes" every few minutes and must be restarted. Very frustrating! I can't be the only user that's experiencing this issue. I keep hoping & watching for an app update to address this, but nothing so far.`Page navigation:
