vast territory marked by the presence of the Franco-Breton border, The Marches of Brittany in the Middle Ages extend from the bay of Bourgneuf (or Baye de Bretagne) to the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel via Machecoul, Clisson, Le Pallet (former fortress and museum of the Nantes vineyard), Champtoceaux, Oudon, Ancenis, Chateaubriant, Vitr, Fougres, but also Dol, Dinan, Mont Saint-Michel, Avranches, Saint-Hilaire du Harcout, Pouanc, but also Tiffauges, Montaigu, Palluau, La Garnache and Noirmoutier.
This exceptional, unique and singular territory has been the scene of all the events that marked the common history of Brittany and France. For a long time it was a land of confrontation but also of exchanges and communications. And even several centuries later, the places, the monuments, the traditions, keep the memory of a rich past that today with this project "Destination Les Marches de Bretagne", I wish to bring back to life in a peaceful way by valuing this formidable cross-border heritage both from a touristic and cultural point of view as well as from an economic one.
