Codeword Challenge play online

Codeword Challenge is a logic-based word guessing game. A five-letter word is randomly chosen from over 4400 "common" words. The player then enters a legitimate word (over 5700 words are recognized) from the keyboard provided and presses the "submit" button. Feedback is given by color coding each letter of the provided word a green letter is correct, an orange letter is in the word but in the wrong location, and gray is not in the word. With that feedback in mind, the player repeats the process with a second word, and so forth. The maximum number of attempts is six.

Features include:
1.) Unlimited play - play as many games in a session as you would like.
2.) Stats - Statistics are kept (for the session only) on the number of attempts taken for each puzzle.
3.) Non-duplicative - The same word will not appear within 200 games.
4.) Replay - Make it competitive by allowing someone else to replay the same word and see how they do comparatively.

Age appropriateness: This app is provided as a family game. Objectionable and very obscure words (in the mind of this developer) have been removed from the 4400 common words that come up as selections in game play. Obviously, each of us, and especially younger players without a fully developed vocabulary, may encounter words we do not know or use, such as byres (cow barns), cruet (a small container), panga (a fishing boat) or roils (making water muddy by disturbing its sediment). So, for younger players and newer English speakers, the game can also help learn strategies of frequently combined letters and enhance their vocabulary (with a good dictionary by your side!). Please note that the larger word list used for evaluating the legitimacy of the players submitted words is 5700 words and does recognize words found in a standard dictionary including those eliminated from the random codeword generation as objectionable or very obscure.
