SCREENSHOTS
DESCRIPTION
Use UptoPlay to play online the game Car Compass Overlay.
Compass works on the devices with compass/magnetic field sensors and without such. It can use "GPS Mode" to determine the moving car direction.
In "Compass Mode" the shown azimuth is between North and the device pointing direction. Device can be used in both flat and upright position, both horizontal and vertical orientation.
In "GPS Mode" it requires your device to be moving. Shown azimuth then is between North and the direction of your movement.
Enjoy with UptoPlay the online game Car Compass Overlay.

You may have improved as an Android developer looks like it anyway, because now it seems to work both as a compass and tied to GPS, but I would like to be able to adjust the transparency and adjust the size and adjust to where the Avatar is placed on a per screen or per activity basis.and or I would at least like the Avatar to remember where it was the last time I used it once I activate it. Would also be cool and less confusing if the Avatar would immediately start homescreen and drop the setup
Could do with more features. I believe it is technically possible for overlays like this to automatically start up under certain conditions such as when a particular app is launched. I would love this app if I could customise it to only show up when Google Maps is running, or better still, when Google Maps is actually navigating. It's a feature that Google Maps should have but doesn't, and this would plug that gap just nicely, but not if I have to switch it on and off manually.
Overlay works now, thank you!! Really useful for driving to have the dot indicating the direction I am driving *in relation to an imagined map where north is up*, especially when using the overlay. The other user review does not seem to understand this function. A useful improvement would be being able to choose the size of the overlay, but it works the way it is now :-)
Great idea. I would love to see optional eight more divisions in addition to existing all eight cardinal and intercardinal points, e.g. SSW. Another optional display I would love is true or magnetic heading digital readout, e.g. 210 (for 210 degrees heading). Also an optional automatic change from compass mode to gps mode and vice versa based on user-selected ground speed threshold, e.g. 5mph, would be very appreciated.
Simple. Elegant. Functional. Love it. Any way to make it bypass the settings screen when launched and immediately display the overlay? I would like to use this in a Tasker routine and require no input from me upon launch to show the overlay.'
