The Apocrypha 1 Companion App is a gameplay aid for the Apocrypha Adventure Card Game from Lone Shark Games. As others have said before, the UI/UX design just isn't as friendly as a reference app should have. Swiping between cards is the inherent behavior for most who use a smart device regularly. Ever since the expansions content came out, the card list has been painfully slow to scroll through since I'm pretty sure it loads all 1000+ cards at once, then collapses them away by card type. Performance-wise, there needs to be a way to filter the cards further, such as faction, gift type, etc.
The app would be pretty nice, but it hasn't been updated in a year and there are some definite bugs. I reached out to both Lone Shark Games and Tinkerhouse and they both ignored me. No support for the app anymore, overly complicated in some ways, no updates for new content even now that new stuff is being released... You can't get the info about the game anywhere else, but as far as tracking your game, especially in a group, you're better off with paper and pencil.
When is it supposed to be updated with the two expansion boxes? Couldn't wait to get started when I got the boxes, but I can't use the app to track progress...
Desperately needs some sort of search function.
I am revising my review... You just need to be online when loading the app. Afterwards, once the data load is completed, you may put your phone offline. The package play online seems to occur only when your initial play online experienced issues. So far, when I load the app, it no longer prompts me to play online "candlepoint2"'
