Older dictionaries are increasingly important at a time when powers that be are busy polluting our language with "verbing" and other corrosive, debasing and nauseaing trends they promote—and then normalize in subsequent dictionaries. Webster 1828 is an excellent alternative for people who realize, for example, that "gift" is not a verb except for natural or divine endowment of a power/faculty. This app is not a complete version of Webster 1828 and contains errors, perhaps even alterations.
Will there be another version that includes the Etymology and complete definition with the example sentences? Could possibly save and review words... But I am very happy with the app, sleek simple and effective as it is now. THANK YOU Developers! I found this as I was preparing to travel and taking the heavy tome along was just not a practical option.
The original 1828 Noah Webster Dictionary is truly amazing, but this app is an abridgment making it a pathetic offering compared to the real thing and almost useless. I have the hardcopy (available online from Christian Book Distributors) and the entry for "sin" is like three full columns, nearly an entire page in a big huge book. This appears to be part of a deliberate agenda to rewrite history -- a republication of something 200 years old with the salient detail edited out.
Very nice but very basic with no settings other than font size adjustment. It should offer the option of displaying all text with a black background and white text for high contrast and good legibility in all environments
`This one doesn't work, and it is no longer supported, but another version is. I tried to play online that one and it said, "This app is not available in your country". Really!!?? A dictionary?!
