DESCRIPTION
Use UptoPlay to play online the game Taipan.
Taipan was a home computer game from the early '80s that was fun and addicting despite its lack of graphics. It invented the trading-game genre. Taipan was inspired by the famous novel of the same name.
This Android version is modeled after the popular home computer version. The infamous bug in the original game remains in this version.

Comments:
The original is far better than this version. The game becomes impossible to play after 10-20 minutes. How do the hostile ships and Li Yuen's pirates hit every single gun almost every time? Adjust the game so it's more like the original Apple II version. This version completely sucks. Maybe add a save feature so the game is more enjoyable.
It's a lot of fun - but, like other reviewers, I find myself frustrated by how frequent negative events happen. Especially when I HAVE enough money to pay the pirate Captain Li Yuen or whatever, he sends someone to tell me to meet him in Hong Kong, and I go there immediately - just to get attacked by 88 of his fleet when I'm trying to give him money, thus destroying my ship and ending the game.
Sizes of attacking fleets grow beyond playable way to fast. I've played the original and it never escalated beyond playable like this version. It's crazy.
They have ruined the original version they've programed it to screw you it was fun before now it's just lame loan shark sends ships even before gaining any ground at all even if you've already paid him off it's always more ships than you have guns you wind up sunk in 5 seconds 5 guns vs 130 ships unfair
I'm so grateful for this port. If you weren't there in the 80's and didn't have the choice between coding your own text RPG in DOS 3.1 on a Vic20 or playing this on your buddy's Apple IIe, I'm not sure that you'll understand. If someone does AAOW, I'll die delirious."
