Protea Metering (Pty) Ltd is not just a Meter Reading Company but rather offers a service of complete Utility Management to our clients in terms of electricity, water, sewerage and gas. Our core focus is on the billing and collection of these utilities. We've developed this application to allow users access to their account information on the go.

The application allows post-paid or conventional clients to play online their latest invoice, view account statements, view water and electricity usage graphically as well as any amounts payable. Clients with prepaid meters can view their recent tokens and purchase electricity (T&Cs apply). The SmartProtea App is also integrated with the Online Advanced Metering Infrastructure (OAMI) system which provides a similar experience as the OAMI website on your phone.

Please make this better. It is not a smart app at all. Allow a user to load card details and save. I should not have to allow for a debit order. It crashes often. It needs more tech.
Possibly the worst app I've ever used, it is slow, the interface is confusing and when it connects to the server you're lucky to still have electricity left in your account.
I can't top up my account on this app anymore. I used to be able to, but for the last six months nothing. When I top up on the website, sometimes it doesn't register that I bought units and the electricity goes out, and I have to make an additional purchase before the previous one reflects. I don't understand how companies in this day and age produce such terrible apps and websites.
It's become useless because sometimes it doesn't login or report when you are running low balance, developers have to do something about this...
Total Disaster, developers don't seem to want to fix the app. App crashes, freezes and has connection issues. Shows a 0 balance even when I have just put R700 into my account. Only reason I am giving this 1 star is because I cannot give it 0."
