Never get bored playing the same game. Palamedes currently supports Greek variants (Portes, Plakoto, Fevga). You can also play the traditional Greek variant Tavli where all three games are played in the same match!
Palamedes AI is based on Artificial Neural Networks trained on millions of self-play games using advanced reinforcement learning techniques. Special AI algorithms are also used for individual matches as well as for Tavli matches.

AI plays smart, but the luck of its rolls on expert level are completely unrealistic. I totally agree that there is a problem with the random generator, as these games do not reflect random numbers. The cpu had consistently small needs when needed, more doubles than me through 5 games, and landed on exactly the roll it needed to pin my piece in plakoto every time. The game plays fine, but graphics are rather ugly, and dice and totally unrealistic. Uninstalled.
`Great implementation of Portes (Backgammon), Plakoto and Fevga. And no ads! Allows for minor rule variations. It's a shame so many poor reviews are posted from users who don't believe the dice rolls are random based on playing a couple of games. The AI, at least for Plakoto, is strong -- I lose 4 out of 5. Two suggestions: (1) Allow greater use of UNDO. If the user accidently makes an unintended full move, a good game can be ruined. Maybe requiring clicking a "confirm move" before going on to the computer move? And (2) -- add the name "backgammon" to the name of the game so that more people searching for it will find this fine program. (Portes differs from Backgammon in only 2 small ways -- no doubling cube and no three point games.) Great job.`,Horrible game. I am only allowed to move one piece when the computer can move two per roll. The computer then covers all spaces since I MUST use my entire roll using only one piec3 per play.
This is a great app. The game engine is very good. The app would be better still if the board graphic could be improved. The white background can be a strain to have to look at for a long time. It would also be useful if the app could export game moves in the TAVLI format in the same way as is done in the desktop version of this program. Also, a doubling cube would attract more interest from the Backgammon playing community.
Excellent game that is fairly easy on the battery, plays nicely, and isn't biased. Comparable to XG mobile. Nice to see Tavli variants as opposed to straight Backgammon. No adverts! Couple of suggestions: The settings are lost everytime you leave the game (why do i need the sounds turned back on or the slower animations?) The animation could be a lot quicker."
