An international crime syndicate seeks to take over the UN Exo Station Complex, centered near Kepler Crater, for reasons known only to them. They use drones, constructed to look like alien attackers, to sow fear and destruction.
The world's spacefaring nations rush to bring together their forces and means of deployment. To hold off the attackers until forces from Earth arrive, the team at Kepler has applied their collective know-how to create a hovercraft with a regenerative cannon and ablative armor.
They call this improvised machine the Luna Runner.
