Haptic Study for Android play online

Participate in a haptic study!


Welcome and thank you for your interest in our research.

This study is part of a collaboration between researchers at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea, and San Francisco State University in the United States. The project investigates the user experience of haptic sensations. We study how people perceive and describe vibration patterns from mobile phones and what algorithms and software tools can facilitate the creation of rich haptic experiences by designers and developers.

To participate in this experiment, you must:

- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Understand English at a B2 level.
- Not have any sensory impairment (e.g., numbness) in your hands.
- You must complete this experiment on an Android 11 or a later version with an Android device.

* Compatibility is not guaranteed in Android 12 yet, so please refer to it.

NOTE: The data collected for each participant is reviewed; if a participant does not follow instructions or fails the attention test, we reserve the right to withhold payment. To avoid failing the attention test, participants are urged to remove their phone case and evaluate the similarity of the vibrations attentively.
