Abdullah Ibn Abbas Ibn Abd al-Muttalib al-Hashimi, (3 BC / 618 AD - 68 AH / 687 AD) is a modern Companion, jurist, hafiz, exegete, and cousin of the Prophet Muhammad, and one of the many hadith narrators, as he narrated 1660 hadiths from the Prophet Muhammad.

He also said: Oh God, teach him the book, God teach him wisdom. The Prophet died when he was thirteen years old, and he was interpreting the Quran after the death of the Prophet, until he was called the ink of the nation and the translator of the Quran, and the ink and the sea.

Ibn Abbas was an advisor to Omar Ibn Al-Khattab in his succession at a young age, and he was called the old boy. Ibn Abbas witnessed the conquest of Ifriqiya in the year 27 AH with Ibn Abi Sarh, and he conquered Tabaristan with Saeed bin Al-Aas in the year 30 AH, and he assumed the leadership of Hajj in the year 35 AH by order Othman, and witnessed with Ali bin Abi Talib the battle of the Camel and the battle of Siffin, and he was a prince on the left, then he witnessed with Ali the fight of the Kharijites in Nahrawan, and Ali sent him to six thousand of the Haruriya, so Ibn Abbas interviewed them, two thousand of them returned. Ali appointed him over Basra, from the year 36 AH until the year 39 AH, then Abu al-Aswad al-Duali succeeded him.
