Umbrella was founded on the belief that everyone should be able to live in the homes they love.

By uniting a community of skilled Neighbors and curating trusted Professionals, Umbrella provides a set of helping hands that make it easier and more affordable to live independently.

After careers working at Google and other technology companies, Lindsay Ullman and Sam Gerstenzang began working on Umbrella after spending time with their own parents and grandparents. Some of them were handy, and others needed a bit of help – but we’re not naming names.

Umbrella was originally founded in Schenectady, NY and has helped thousands of members maintain their homes for over 23 years.
