Convenient Use Cases
Touch Protector is a simple app that disables touch screen and physical button operations, but it has many useful uses.
- When walking while looking at a map app, the map does not shift even if you touch the screen.
- Walking with the music video playing in your pocket.
- Locking the camera during video recording allows you to enjoy various camera work without worrying about accidental operation.
- When using your phone as a navigation system for motorcycles, you can prevent accidental operation due to raindrops.

Basic Usage
- Lock the screen with notification bar, shake, etc.
- Unlock the screen with the volume key.
- It's easier to understand if you watch the video above.
Recommended Settings
- SHAKE > Shake locking > ON
- SHAKE > Shake sensitivity > Adjust the sensitivity
- PROXIMITY > Proximity covered locking > ON
- UPSIDE DOWN > Upside down locking > ON
- UPSIDE DOWN > Right side up unlocking > ON
- HARD KEYS > Volume up key unlocking > ON
- HARD KEYS > Volume down key unlocking > ON
Emergency Unlock
If you are unable to unlock your phone, please try the following.
- Press the volume button.
- Connect your phone to a power source.
- Make a call to the phone and touch the screen.
- Touch the screen 5 times to display the other unlock methods.
- Remove the SIM card to force reboot your phone.
- Restart your phone forcibly according to the method found by searching for "force restart your-phone-name".
Randomly Terminated!
Your phone's battery control feature may be forcing Touch Protector to terminate.
You may want to exclude Touch Protector from the phone's battery control. The following website is helpful for setting exclusion.

Restrictions for Android 8 and later
Due to additional restrictions in Android OS 8 or later, Touch Protector can no longer disable the notification bar (top edge of the screen) and navigation bar (bottom edge of the screen). Therefore, Touch Protector will close the notification bar and navigation bar as soon as they are displayed to reduce accidental operation.

I am using this on my pixel 6 pro with latest Android 12. Everything is working very well except that I am unable to block the navigation bar. When I swipe up when the screen is locked it goes to the home screen. So if my daughter is watching a YouTube video and srcolling up to see the video feed, it activates the navigation bar and goes back to home screen. Is there a fix for this ? Really love your app with no ads. Please fix this so I can contribute for your awesome work.
I walk/jog daily 1-2 hours. I put my phone in the pocket (pants, jacket) and I also stuff the excessive length of the headphone wire into the pocket and zip it up. I tested the app for 3 weeks and there has not been a day when the app wouldn't unlock. More over, the upside down function is also failing intermittently. I have to either close and reopen the app several times or move the phone up and down several times. My phone is only 7 months old, so I would presume that all sensors work as they should. EDIT DEC29. I discovered another bug using this app. When using a browser, Google Maps etc, when zooming in (using the pinch gesture) the screen get locked. Also, when moving an icon and holding it in the new position briefly, the screen locks
Wow! Didn't know this app existed. Every phone I've used for years, I hit keys when on a phone call periodically. The screen blanks as it should when I put the phone to my ear, but must just be the way I hold it, it wakes periodically and hits the mute key or worse. I was able to set this to lock the screen based on that initial proximity sensor activation. Gives me a quick vibration letting me know it activated. Even has a setting to show an opaque image saying it's locked.
I love this app for allowing my small kid to watch shows/skype etc. So simple, but lots of customization features, and attention to detail. Just setting it up on my new phone all seems smooth so far!
This app is great and it has an unintended benefit. Because of the anti-sleep feature my phone actually performs better because it prevents the phone from going into deep sleep, yet the screen still turns off when still. I had been trying to find an app to do this but this app did it when that's not even it's purpose. It took a lot of tweeking and testing to get it just how I need it but works great to prevent accidental touches, butt calls etc.
