Valry Numa was born on July 4, 1974 in Camp-Perrin, a municipality in the arrondissement of Les Cayes in the south of the country. After his secondary studies at the New Bird College in Port-au-Prince, he studied social communication at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the State University of Haiti, undergraduate level (1994-1998). Valry Numa followed courses on investigative journalism (USA), parliamentary journalism (Haiti), press ethics (Burkina Faso), interview (France) etc. At the initiative of the French Embassy in Haiti, Valry Numa participated in 2003 in an observation course at France 2 and at RFI. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Radio Vision 2000. In addition, he is the representative of the International Union of the Francophone Press for Haiti. He collaborated with the newspaper L'Humanit in France and Reporter Sans Frontires. He was hired by the PNUD-FENU-GTZ consortium as a communications consultant for the development of audio-script as part of a series of programs on local authorities.
Since 2000, he has headed the EXCEL Institute of Communication and Journalism. Currently, he acts as a freelancer on behalf of Radio Canada. Valry Numa has already published These words that remain, a collection of interviews published in 2003. Touching on the 7th art, he produced in 2003 a documentary film on the press entitled La Presse face son destin and in 2005 VOCATION, a fiction dealing with the profession of journalist. This film was awarded at the 2nd International Haitian Film Festival of Montreal held in September 2006 on the initiative of the Fabienne Colas Foundation. In addition to working as a journalist, Valry Numa runs Index Production, an audiovisual production company, and Le Recul Htel, a tourism promotion company located in Camp-Perrin.
