I was able to set up this app, but the experience was rather painful. If I wasn't a professional software engineer, I probably would have failed. After all that effort, the app basically has two functions: 1) set the temp, and 2) turn the unit on/off. Hardly worth the frustration. The status function seems to be a fail. Was looking for recirc switch, scheduling, and so much more. Don't bother.
Cool idea except you can only configure it with the app and the app crashes when you attempt to 1. register an account, 2. Log in, and 3. Click password reset. I suppose I'm being unfair, I can't guarantee you can't login but since you can only register on the app, see #1. For $150 accessory I would expect more.
You need to incorporate control of the recirculation schedule as well as on/off control of the recirculation pump. Those are two very important functions missing. I bought the wireless unit mainly to control the recirc pump and disappointed it doesn't do that. Looking forward to the capability. The Noritz tankless heater is fabulous!
This app does not work on Android P running on a Samsung S8 or its sister version on Apple iOS Devices (The Done button on step6 of 6 of Registration process fails to be acknowledged). Noritz IT email support has not been responsive either (8 calendar days and waiting). 2 more business days with no response then I will return the Noritz Connect to the Retailer I purchased it from. no response received to my email and this review, so I have returned the product (refund has been recieved).
Got the water heater connected to the router, tapped DONE and nothing happened. Exited out of the app and reopened it and it wanted me to go through the entire setup process again. Seems I'm not the only one having this issue. Total waste of money to get the wifi controller if the app sucks. Very disappointed."
