Comments:
Love it. Extremely challenging but also mostly balanced once you get the hang of it. It's one of those games that loses its charm once you beat it though. I think it goes to floor 30 or maybe even 40. Unique aspects for every 5 floors. Every boss has a trick everything is great. Though I've only ever made it to floor 25. I wish there was a global leaderboard if to change anything really or add more buffs to the armor when upgraded.
I've been playing pixel dungeon and the spinoffs for 7 years now. Incredible game. Legendary. It takes a while to get good enough to finish it. Took me a lot of trys at first, and you need to find the right builds and a little luck. After you're good, you're good, and you can finish most games you start. All the negative reviews about how hard it is are hilarious. The whole point is that its difficult. If you aren't excited about a game that is challenging then you aren't meant for this game.
It's a nice little game and it's funny how it's played. I haven't gotten far, only the level past the first boss. Pixel dungeon is deceptive of how it can be played. The seeds can be used In more ways than just making potions. The potions themselves don't stay with the same effects each attempt. It's always good to have the dew vial. The only thing I'd take away is the hunger mechanic so it's less luck based. That way, the player could prepare for the boss by going back without being punished.
This game is honestly fantastic! If you love old school roguelike RPGs, this is a must try! Cons: I will say it can be frustrating, as the levels are procedurally generated causing it to be a bit random. Also after each boss the next area becomes MUCH harder. (Still haven't beaten the game yet...) But this lead into the pros... Pros: Lots of replayability due to the random generation. And because of the difficulty spikes it leaves you coming back for more, always having learned something new. Each class is fun to play and has things that make them each uniquely viable.
Great game with two complaints: 1) The durability of equippable items decreases the more you upgrade them. 2) The Dwarf Warlocks in this game are overpowered! Seriously, those guys end ~90% of the games I have played! I know, I might be told to "get good" and what not, but these guys have a seriously overpowered range attack which makes fighting them a pain when far away. Complaints aside, I really like this game, and I would recommend it for anyone who likes a good turn-based strategy game.'
