Therefore open the app and point the camera onto the code. CodeScanner will show you the content of the code and various other functions.

Protection against unintended redirects
On a scanned website, CodeScanner tries to check the links and shows possible redirects. Thereby you have the guaranty that the scanned code links to the target you expected. Furthermore the title and description are shown, to provide more pre-information. This function only applies to encrypted, secure connections (https). If the retrieving of information fails, appropriate error messaged are shown.

Privacy
CodeScanner respects your privacy. The app has no access to your contact information, your phone storage, your location or other functions, that are not required for the application to work. We do not collect any personal data of you.

Required permissions
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA)
The scanning of codes requires the access to the phone respectively tablet camera. No pictures are taken.

Internet (android.permission.INTERNET)
An internet connection is required for displaying ad banners and the retrieving of information of scanned websites.

Vibration (android.permission.VIBRATE)
The vibration permssion is required in order to trigger a short vibration after a code scan.

WiFi information (android.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_STATE)
This permission is required in order to add a scanned wifi network to your existing wifi networks. Information about existing networks oder connections are not retrieved.
