Use UptoPlay to play online the game Hans Wehr (Arabic Almanac).
The Hans Wehr app is a digital version of the famous Arabic-English Hans Wehr dictionary. You can search through the dictionary by using the root letter of the word and the app will display the corresponding page from the Hans Wehr dictionary.
This app was developed to aid students of the Arabic language in their noble pursuit. This app will remove the need of carrying around a bulky dictionary and replace it with the convenience of your smartphone. Now you have access to all the same information but at the comfort of your fingertips.
The dictionary can be searched using an Arabic keyboard, or if you do not have an Arabic keyboard the dictionary can be searched using roman (English) letters which have an Arabic equivalent. To search just simply enter the root letters of the word and click search. You can navigate through the pages of the dictionary by swiping left and right. (See the About section in the app for more details).
To enable offline mode please open the Settings page and play online the necessary files. The app provides quick access features to check the verb forms and the Roman to Arabic letter conversion. If you are experiencing difficulties with the app crashing when trying to enable offline mode, then please uninstall the app and play online the latest update which fixes this issue.
At the moment only the Hans Wehr (Arabic-English) dictionary is supported, but we are working on releasing other dictionaries as well.

Update: I finally figured out how to fix the offline mode bug. I turned this option on months ago, but it made the app unusable. All pages disappeared and wouldn't come back, despite deleting the app and re-downloading. Additionally, the offline mode option couldn't be turned off once turned on. To get the app working again, I had to go into my phone's settings and delete the app's cache and data. This reset the app settings and turned off offline mode. Now it works like a charm.
This is far better than the other Hand Wehr dictionary app... So long as you don't ever want to use offline mode. If you do enable offline mode, it will remove all ability to view the dictionary pages and grey out the bar to disable offline mode meaning you will have to reinstall the app. Trust me; I've done this a few times thinking it was a chance glitch but, no, it's consistent.
So simple but so effective and useful! It appears like scans of the original pages of the old book but its search feature works. This is an indispensable tool for any Arabic student or scholar.

`Thanks to Matt's comment below, I too have fixed the "Offline Mode Bug". The images stop appearing after the ofline mode is enabled. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but the problem was still there. Go into the Google apps setting, find the app and delete the "Storage Cache". The don't enable the offline mode again. Perhaps the programmer should remove that option. Other than that this is a fabulous app. Five stars plus.`Page navigation:
