At first, meh, but after poking around, good. Notifications did not work for me. Now, a year later, I use this app the most on my phone. It is my go-to for many good reasons ever day. Nice feature to be able to choose authors. I did so chronologically, one at a time. It's useful that the author's dates are listed in the app. Fantastic that there is no distraction from ads (yet?); they are nicely at the bbotto. The search feature is very nice too, but the heuristics are weak, i.e. no RegEx.
Hey, man, I love your app. I really think you would see more profit if you lowered the cost of removing ads to 1 or 2 dollars. People are willing to support production of great products, but 5 dollars is just too much. You may get a few people buying, but many, many more would be willing to contribute if it were a more reasonable price to remove ads. Consider the cost of removing ads in many more functional apps: it is rarely more then 4 dollars. Either way, thank you for your hard work!
Simple design, everything it needs to be and nothing more. I get exactly the one push notification a day that I want, I get the quote, and it's done. No bloated interface/pushes/etc. Convenient buttons to share, save, read aloud (standard Android read, it's rough but nice option). Can scroll through if you want more. Love it, thanks so much!
The application is ok but persistent bugs and lack of useful organization. I paid to remove ads and I keep seeing ads. I emailed support for it and the dev told me to install again or update I did that but still see ads when changing quotes and sometimes. So it is not worthy paying this. Beside that when you bookmark a quote there is not organization or category on the list and is useless.
LOVE waking up to the food for thought provided, it's awesome that the app delivers on a schedule. Excellent user interface, so simple anyone can use The Stoic. Would like to be able to set up more alerts throughout the day. If individual quotes found through the search function could be displayed artistically upon selection, as on the front end of the app (with the philosopher's bust or image) in larger print as well as in small print list view, that would be an improvement. Thanks!"
