The new app makes it easier to view your Rule Book on-the-go, find content, and to view future amendments.
The new Rule Book app is responsive to your device and available for smartphones or tablets. You can benefit from -
* improved usability and search functionality across handbooks and modules;
* being able to build your Rule Book for your job role;
* viewing job role related content offline;
* receiving and viewing future amendments to content automatically on your device;
* viewing explanations of change alongside the amended content;
* always having the most up-to-date information on your device;
* being able to favourite content for quick viewing;
* being able to add notes to content.
Download the app to your device, register using your work email address and login.
Once you are logged in you will be recommended to add (download) to My Rule Book modules and handbooks relevant to your job role. Once downloaded, this content will be available to view when you are offline, so no need to worry about service connection!
View content by clicking on My Rule Book tab and clicking on the eye icon, you can then navigate through the document and makes notes relevant to your job.
To find specific content across any document, you can use the search function at the top of the screen.
When amendments are made to the rules, this will automatically be downloaded to your device when connected to WIFI. Current in force content and future amended content can be viewed within the app. When future amendments come into force, this content will automatically replace previous content. So, you will always have the most up to date information!

Absolute waste of time, this app is supposed to negate the need for a paper rule book. I can't get past the update screen, it just gets stuck at the Synchronising User Details part. So effectively, I haven't got any access to a rule book. Yes, I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and my Android software is up to date, but it doesn't make a difference . Get a pdf or paper version
`It has to "updated" every time you open the app and sometimes it just shows blank pages when you select a book. Unless you can update it so it stores all the data on the phone/tablet it's too unreliable, several times I've needed to look at something and I either haven't got the signal to update it or the books just won't open correctly.`,Very handy to help keep up to date with latest rule changes and to check on the bits that have strayed from memory. Downside is the app has stopped opening with Android 10, just get the blue rulebook page that starts but it doesn't go any further, have emailed this problem but no reply so thought I would leave a comment to see if that helps.
A great app when its working, its well designed and easy to use. I much prefer using this to paper books. But the reliability? Awful. It works about 50% of the time at best, and generally when you really need it, ie: checking something out on the line, or revising prior to an assessment, it'll let you down.
`Waste of time installing it. It's stated the app is only available to people whose employer has signed up for the app, but the page doesn't list these employers. Not knowing whether mine has, I installed it in the hope it would work. Unfortunately, access was denied, with the suggestion I contact my employer and persuade them to join. I suspect that request would get nowhere, which is a pity as the rule book should be accessible via various routes. For the moment, I'll use the .pdf versions via my phone's web browser. RSSB need to review their "pay up or no access" attitude, as restricting it to certain employees does not help deliver a safer railway!`Page navigation:
