Use UptoPlay to play online the game Arboreal - Height of Tree.
Now you could measure the height of a tree with high accuracy. The app uses AR technology in your phone to measure the distance from the tree and the angle to the top of the tree to get an estimate of its height.
The best tool is the one thats always with you, your phone.
You could also measure buildings, towers and bridges.

In order to get the best results, hold the camera in an upright position when you walk away from the tree. Dont point the camera to the ground. Try to stand some distance from the tree and have a good view of the top of the tree.

Works, but getting the initial tap to register is hard, and after that if you are slow walking to where to sight the top of the tree, it will time out and give you a wrong measurement
Only gives you a few tries without putting in your email. I don't know if that will give you more chances. It should give you at least 20 tries so you can figure out what you are doing wrong- uninstalled...
First time user. Found extremely simple to use. Video instructions email very useful. Follow up instructions via email also helpful. This is one app I shall keep on my phone. The originator obviously cares about the customer. Top marks. Highly recommended.
Had hoped for ability to export saved height recordings (eg. To an excel/.txt doc). Any plans to provide this functionality? Would save duplicate entry in surveys.
Great little app, very simple and seems pretty accurate. Obviously proper surveying equipment would be more accurate, but it would also be much more expensive and difficult and unnecessary most if the Time. Would be nice if you could measure diameter and make lists of the trees with notes.'
