receive text messages (SMS) - The micro:bit can react to different events on the phone and vice versa. This permission allows the user to make the micro:bit react in the event the user receives an SMS message. The message contents and details are not used or stored by the application.

take pictures and videos - The user can programme the micro:bit to send events to the phone to launch the camera or take a picture or video.

Comments:

Of course there's still room for improvement. This app is great if you already use your Microbit with a windows based pc. I have the latest MB with bt pairing and it works, however I accidently bricked it when I tried to use the app with my Chromebook. Haven't got around to reinstalling the bootloader yet even though I have Linux available on my Chromebook. Even though this app isn't completely idiot proof yet (raises hand), it's still a great teaching tool for teachers or tech savvy people.

App lacks basic functionality found in iOS version. I've used the microbit with many different computers and apple products with little to no issue. On Android, there are constantly issues pairing the device, and because the coding software is not embedded in the app as it is for iOS, I cannot even flash code to the microbit. I can code in the browser and play online the code with no trouble, but there is no way to get the code into the app in order to flash it to the device. Essentially useless.

This app is largely a collection of links to the website and three demo programs which do not flash correctly. After reinstalling the application, I still cannot get a successful flash of the demo programs. Beyond flashing demos, I'm not sure what this app is supposed to do.

I'm not really sure how the Bluetooth connections work on here, but I've seen people do it on YouTube and stuff, so I know how it works, and I've done all the steps and I just can't figure it out, so that's a con. Pro is that if you can gt a connection you can wirelessly send code to your micro:bit.

App pairs with microbit by following instructions on screen. But after that, it never connects to the paired microbit. I have S9 with official updates. Hard to believe that people have been complaining for 11 months but Samsung has not updated the app yet. Clearly, Samsung is a very incompetent company which takes no responsibility for their products...'
