DO NOT purchase any Amcrest security systems. I can not log into the Amcrest system at my location or reinstall the app on neith er of my phones. Can't get any help from the help desk. AMCREST is horrible. I've had this system a year. I use Night Owl security system in two other locations and has had them for three years with no problems. I guess I'll be purchasing a Night Owl for this location.

Good luck getting it to log in and actually view your HVR or captured video. Easily the least user friendly app I've used in a while. There is no real fast-forward option so you cannot scan through video from the day. The motion capture is not at all intuitive, you're better off leaving it recording. And if you actually want to log in and view your cameras, it really only works while your phone is on the same wifi as the camera system. The interface is clunky like a 90s movie. Total garbage.

Dropping to 1 star. No updates since fall 2016. Not compatible with new types of devices. They've clearly given up on this app, which is infuriating for those of us who continue to use their hardware. I won't be one of those much longer. If I can't expect continued support for a system I continually put my money into, then they can't expect continued support from me, and you'd be better off looking into a different solution as well. Come spring time, I am replacing my entire 8 camera system.

Less than optimal. It's difficult to select playback times to the minute, the slide bar moves too much. Aside from the app, the customer service isn't great at all and the system I had lasted only 6 months before the cameras stopped working correctly. I wouldn't recommend this product or others if you may ever need service or support.

(Samsung S8+) Don't ofter review apps but this one is getting annoying. I continue to get notifications by my phone that this app has been monitored accessing the cameras on my phone. I turned off the camera and microphone permissions for this app and I just received another notification saying that amcrest is accessing my camera even though the permissions are turned off. This seems like a security issue and considering this is a security system app it doesn't give me confidence in the company."
