Play this online game named Research PartS.

PartS is a prototype developed by the group of Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Media at the University of Siegen, Germany. The overall PartS infrastructure focusses on two parts: (1) The mobile application and (2) the collaborative analysis infrastructure.

The goal of PartS is to offer researchers a collaborative environment for capturing in situ information of users and their mobile behaviour. Such in situ information is one the one hand all captured sensor data like location, light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer and others and on the other hand qualitative information gathered with surveys.

In contrast to other approaches, PartS focus on integrating the users into the entire research process. They are not only considered as researched ‘test subjects’. The users have options for (anonymized) participating in studies they are interested to and ony then tranmitting data, seeing their own information (quantified self), contacting the researchers, seeing their own results and discussing them.
