How to Reach Scilly
The Isles of Scilly are an English Archipelago situated 28 miles off Lands End in Cornwall. To get here, you need to cross the water by plane, helicopter or by boat. Whichever option you choose, its important to plan ahead
Visit www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk or www.penzancehelicopters.co.uk to plan your visit.
Flights operate out of Exeter (March October), Newquay and Lands End. The flight takes about an hour from Exeter, 30 minutes from Newquay and around 15 minutes if you fly from Lands End. Skybus is the islands own local airline and runs a 19-seat De Havilland Twin Otter.
The Scillonian III is a passenger ferry (there is no car ferry) and sails out from Penzance on a scenic and unrushed cruise that takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes. Treat it as the start of your trip and make the most of the views as you make your way over. You might even spot a dolphin!
Penzance Helicopters fly directly to St Marys. As with the plane, the flight takes just 15 minutes, with incredible aerial views of the Cornish coast and the islands from the state-of-the-art modern helicopter.
