Surah, chapter in the sacred scripture of Islam, the Quran. Each of the 114 surahs, which vary in length from several pages to several words, encompasses one or more revelations received by Muhammad from Allah. According to some Muslim scholars, these labels indicate whether the surah was revealed to Muhammad while he was preaching in one or the other of those cities, each surah as either Makkiyyah or Madaniyyah.
Every surah but the ninth opens with the basmalah formula (in the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful) and is followed by numbered verses (ayahs). This Surah has 83 verses divided into 5 Rukus/Sections. Revealed in Mecca most probably in a later stage of Muhammads declaration of his prophethood. Like most other Meccan Surahs its primary focus is on the doctrine of Tauhid Oneness of God, Life after death, and Admonish and warnings to Meccans for not accepting Muhammads message. The Surah Yaseen Message:
Surah Yaseen narrates the punishments that were suffered by nonbelievers and their children and generations further. The surah reiterates Gods sovereignty and the existence of Resurrection. It is classified as a Meccan surah, whose main theme is to explain some of the basic beliefs of Islam, specifically the belief in life after death.
Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Surah Yasin; whoever reads it, it is as if he has read the Quran ten times.
