MailNotes is an application to store your notes on the server of your favorite trusted E-Mail provider or locally on your phone.

Several Accounts, offline or online can be created.

Besides formatted Text also Images can be added to your note.

Export to a PDF file is possible.

If you go for the online mode, your data is in difference to other Note applications, not stored and synchronized to Servers of unknown companies located in other countries with unknown data protection laws.

Instead your data is uploaded to the provider you trust and which you even use already for your E-Mail communication.

MailNotes is not uploading any data to other servers than your E-Mail provider.

It uses the Chilkat IMAP library to connect to your Provider.

A new folder is created on your IMAP server which will then contain your created notes.

If your Mail provider supports a web interface this will enable you also to read your notes using any web browser.

The password to this server can be either stored, for easier handling, by MailNotes or

entered once when the application tries first time to connect to do a server request.

When not saving the password you will be asked for it as soon the first server request is made.

MailNotes forgets the password again after the application has been closed.

For testing purposes we suggest to create an own IMAP Account.

MailNotes has been tested on two tablet devices using Android 5.1.1 and Android 6.0.

Plus an Sony Ericsson Xperia phone device with 4.0.4

  - MainNotesFragment: Fix possible crash when no grid or list has been selected initially.
  - CkImapHelper: add timeout of 30s while checking connection and downloading notes.

  - Update json-io to version 4.10.0 to avoid issues in deserializing notes from file system.
  - Add dash to allowed characters in New Accounts IMAP server.
