Buggy as heck. I clicked into settings and can't get back out. Where are these files being saved locally? Can't access the files directly and then move them to another computer easily for photo editing. Storage isn't expensive and that seems to be what they're selling. Edit: The dev response makes me believe that this is simply not what I am looking for in a photo app. I want encrypted photos that won't be backed up to a cloud that I can take and decrypt elsewhere.
I truly like the app. I appreciate the privacy it provides. It is attractive and intuitive to use. However, it is a bit slow at uploading, even with fast wifi. Regular photos are no problem, but videos are horridly slow. However, I don't want videos to be uploaded anyway. I hope that stingle will provide an option to disable videos from uploading automatically. I just want photos to upload.
I use Stingle as a supplement to Amazon Photos for photos that are sensitive. I am completely getting away from Google photos. The app works flawlessly for me and I'm extremely happy with the functionality. I like how it gives me the option to delete photos from my device after I upload them to the Stingle cloud. Stingle does not have AI that will locate photos via keywords like Google photos, but it's probably a good thing. More storage in the free plan would be nice improvement.
Subscribed to a plan and storage did not increase to what I paid for. Emailed a few times and have not received a response yet. Auto upload duplicated photos. So far what looks like a great product, is not being backed by customer service. Will see if they eventually respond, but so far can not recommend this product to others. 3/13/21 Update: They eventually responded and processed my refund request. Based on my experience, communications with the company were difficult at best, but bumping them up a star for responding eventually.
Junk. Paid 1 year subscription and I was not upgraded. Wrote to them, but no reply. Do not pay for it. It's a scam!"
