I prefer the old version of the app as I found it easier to navigate. However it still does what is needed, it blocks social media which is my biggest priority and I can add time schedules for access to mobile data/wifi so my daughter is not constantly glued to the phone. The ability to check the phones location when shes out and about is also very useful. I had problems with it recently but tech support were extremely helpful and kept in touch until the issue was fully resolved which it is.
Several months in to the new update and there's not anything I like about the new interface. I've stopped interacting with the app. The ikydz box frequently just stops connecting to our devices and they lose access to WiFi. This occurs randomly almost once a week. Frustrating beyond belief. Would have given ikydz 5 stars before the update.
The box is easy to connect to the main router and the app was quite simple and intuitive. I can control the internet usage of my kids, the content they browse and their time of use as well. The mobile solution is handy too which allows me to keep a tab on what my kids install on their phones. Worth the yearly subscription.
Have been trying to get the Ikydz home going for a week. I purchased it in the hope that I could just plug in, register and get started. A week later and I am no further ahead. Ok. I did eventually manage to get registration sorted which was not straightforward either. Now the middle light on router keeps flashing which means no internet connection. I feel like dumping in bin. €99.
