The Collins Cobuild Intermediate Dictionary is based on a huge database of text, both written and spoken, called The Bank of English. The Bank of English contains over 650 million words, and it is the basis of all the statements that Cobuild makes about the language. The entries contain a detailed account of the main uses and meanings of each word. Each of the forms is listed at the start of each entry, along with information about alternative spellings, if any exist. Explanations are written in full sentences, and show typical grammatical behavior. The explanations also give a clear description of meaning. And of course, the thousands of examples are taken directly from The Bank of English, showing typical patterns of use and grammatical structure.

Overall I think this is a good app. I'm disappointed that you have to spend money in order to use it but it doesn't give you the audio of the words so you hear the pronunciation of the word
This app has been the best dictionary for me for a decade. But I'm always frustrated by the following behavior. 1. Choose Japanese (12 keys) as the default language in Google keyboard settings. 2. Open app 3. Type the first letter in the seach box 4. Google keyboard layout is suddenly changed from alphabet layout to Japanese characters layout. It only happen start and resume in the app lifecycle.
Not only you won't be able to find every word you're going to be looking for, cuz it's too much restricted. But also, you only have a short period of 30 days to use it for free. Afterwards, you'll have to pay for premium version, which costs a lot for a mere app designed for intermidiate students. With a currency, like the *Gourde*, with a low value, it will definitely cost an arm and a leg. However, somewhat good, with a basic easy-to-understand meaning of each word it contains.
App is very good. It very well explains all the possible meanings of a single word when it is used in different contexts. This app is worth giving 5 stars but still I'm giving it 4 stars because 'pronunciation' feature is not available in the app which i think is equally important as it is to know the meaning of the word.
A poor version of a good dictionary. This feels like a text file has been bolted on to a standard interface. There is no spelling check or word suggestions. Additionally there is no thought of what to do if a word isn't in the dictionary. To be honest you're probably better off bookmarking the Collins dictionary page as the first definition of each word comes from the Cobuild Dictionary (lots of ads though)."
