NOTE on 0.4.0: Sony device owners, please note that due to Sony's special hardware configuration, the Sleipnir Vaavud device will not work with your phone, and inserting the Sleipnir wind meter may cause the app to crash

The app requires the Vaavud wind meter for smartphones, which can be bought on Vaavud.com. The Vaavud wind meter is a patent pending, electronicless cup anemometer, which utilizes the sensors in your phone, and an advanced set of algorithms to measure the exact wind speed.

Current, average, maximum wind speed and wind direction ( only with Sleipnir device).

Wind range: 2- 25 m/s

is this project dead? the app hardly does anything. it hasn't for quite some time and this is across more than one device. all it shows up as a black screen with a little plus button still let you take a reading. can't even set the unit a measurement permanently, so you have to tap the screen and then go through every unit if you don't want the default one really kind of sad that I spent fifty bucks on this Hardware there's no app to back it up with any sort of functionality. I I had high hopes
I was surprised by how quickly and easily it worked on my Samsung S10. I found the meter itself on clearance for less than $10 at West Marine. There's a post on Sailflow that they are hosting the app, but since Vaanud is technically out of business, it would be nice if the meter worked with other apps.
Sucks has anyone found another app it works with well it works on a older phone website not available. The cost is still high .
This app doesn't work, no wind measurements possible. The company went into liquidation in 2018. Not sure why they're still selling the vaavud hardware... They open sourced the app on GitHub maybe that version would allow at least wind speed measurement.
Has no settings to set wind speed. Has not been updated for years. business is longer operating'
