The Statute of Autonomy of Galicia (simply Statute of Galicia), is the basic institutional rule of the Autonomous Community of Galicia (Spain). Within the scope of the Spanish Constitution of 1978, the Statute of Galicia, recognizes this Autonomous Community as a historical nationality. It affirms that the powers of the Autonomous Community are based on the Statute, the Constitution and the Galician people. It establishes a democratic framework of solidarity between all the members of the Galician people.
