The Christ Emergency Medicine Residency Program was established in 1977. Christ hospital is a 749 bed Level 1 Trauma Center located in Oak Lawn, IL, just southwest of Chicago. It ranks nationally in many specialties and is known across the country for excellence in teaching and research. The Emergency Department is known nationwide as one of the highest volume and highest acuity centers in the country, with approximately 115,000 patient visits and more than 4500 trauma activations each year.
