To use with the Gro Smart Irrigation Controller...
After your Gro Smart Irrigation Controller is installed in your home or garage, you use the Gro Connect app for a quick, three step, Bluetooth/WiFi setup process.
To use with the Gro Water Sensor Starter Kit or individual Sensors...
After you plug the Gro Hub (that comes in the Sensor Starter Kit) into any indoor power outlet within range of your home WiFi system, you then use the same three step, Bluetooth/WiFi setup process as the Gro Smart Irrigation Controller to set up your Sensors.
Once setup is complete for any device, you can access your system from anywhere in the world via your Smartphone and manage your Controller or Sensors just as if you were at home.
You can use the Gro Connect app with any Gro smart device, independently.

It seems that the application or the controller is not responding to watering schedule. I reset the app (delete cache, uninstall and re-install), I also re-configured my controller (which is a pain in itself) but nothing has helped so far. The manual watering is working fine though. Since I deleted the cache for my previous install, I cannot confirm but it seems that the problem started happening around daylight saving change. The automatic watering was working fine around until 1st week of Nov but since then it has not been working. I also confirmed that my date and time are synced and are set to automatically update. JFYI, I also tried to uncheck automatic date / time sync and manually set it to my time zone and tested the sprinklers to trigger automatically but that did not work either. So it seems to be an issue with the application itself and may not be the controller.
The app works okay, the controller itself, not so much. For some reason it just stopped watering automatically. Then, when I tried to reset it, it would not reconnect. Plus it is no longer supported. All the help links come back as no longer available. I tried emailing the company and received no response.
Return it NOW while you have time!!! The controller is ok but the app does not work 90% of the time. Lots of calls made to support. Uninstall and reinstall the app, reset the controller, reset the WIFI router. again and again and again and again. May be it will connect after hours of trying, but probably not. I have 2 of them that I pulling off the walls and throwing in the trash. Going to replace with controllers from Orbit.
When toggling a zone in the calendar, the selection sometimes saves, sometimes does not. Hard to say whether or not you actually toggled a zone off for that day. Additionally, I'd like to be able to change the order that my zones are watered without having to change wiring. This app could use a lot of improvements. Hopefully there is still work being done on it.
DO NOT BUY THIS THING. Take a look at the reviews. This thing is complete garbage. It would not connect to my Wi-fi. My router is less than a year old and I have more than 20 other devices connected. It took repeated scanning before it even found ANY wi-fi networks and there are at least 15 in my area. I tried unplugging and plugging back in, restarting the app. Nothing. I'm returning it for a refund. Complete piece of %$#@."
