History has recorded that the island of Lombok was once the territory of the Karang Asem Kingdom of Bali which was domiciled in Cakranegara with a king named Anak Agung Gde Jelantik. During the reign of the King of Lombok, Anak Agung Gde Jelantik, the area of Senggigi Village (Dusun Mangsit, Kerandangan, Senggigi and Dusun Loco) was still merged with Senteluk Village which is now Meninting Village. Meanwhile, in 1962, Senteluk Village was divided into 2 (two) villages, namely Meninting Village and Batulayar Village and Mangsit, Kerandangan, Senggigi and Loco Hamlets merged into Batulayar Village.
