`SAINIK` this word in itself holds the stories of our lionheart soldiers. Our SAINIKs who are ready to fight for the country and due to them only we live fearlessly in our motherland. We personally feel proud of them but most of us dont know the basic internal structure or functioning of defense forces. We tremble on basic questions like: What brigades are? What medals mean? What various ranks mean? and many more. We surveyed what could be the possible reason for this, where are we exactly lacking. One major response we get is that the resources are ample but not that entertaining and hence people lose interest and drop the idea to understand the defense sector. So we came up with the idea of learning about defense forces via an Augmented Reality enabled mobile application. During this pandemic, we already saw the capabilities of Augmented Reality, and inspired by that we added a twist to the normal learning process and made the whole thing knowledgeable and interesting at the same time. Our App includes features like Structure chart, AR-enabled Hall of Fame, AR-enabled Regiment Locator, and many more interesting things. This project could be a major contribution to society.


The SAINIK project is made with an ambition to work as a bridge between civilians and defense personnel. Currently its one of its kind projects. SAINIK will help society to understand and learn each and everything about their defense department which a proud and loyal citizen must know. Our Mobile Application has rich Augmented Reality-enabled features like Army Regiment Locator, Hall of fame and details of various medals, and of course Army Structure Section.
It aims not only to make people understand the internal delicate defense structure but also to explore the rich past and the current strength of our army. Features added using Augmented reality play a vital role to make this application interesting.
We observed that the general knowledge of people about the Indian Army and the results were very shocking. People easily fail to give answers to simple questions like: What platoons mean? What is the difference between a major and Colonel? What is the significance of Shaurya Chakra? and many more. We tried finding the reason and people said that they were never taught and if they tried by themselves then the resources are not that interesting and in the end, they drop the idea to learn about people whom they are most indebted to. So we thought of creating an application that will make the process a whole lot interesting and knowledgeable at the same place.
We used Augmented Reality technology to make the allover experience of the application more rich and interesting. In the current market, no such application which only focuses on defense forces has not been developed and this makes this project the best contender under the innovation category. This project could be a major contribution to society so that they could get motivation from real-life heroes and also understand what it takes to earn that position.
