Comments:
Brilliantly simple and clean. Offline with no log in. Easiest way to track calories. Easily customized if you want to track nutrients or categories of your own. You create your own food database and it is very quick to find entries. Can bundle multiple food entries into single meal entries. Statistics show averages over time. Wish I could display averages in daily view and enter weight "nutrient" in decimals. Trying to average maintenance calories for goal weight with up/down days 1000/2000.
Love it so far! Just wish I could save user added foods or make them favorites somehow.
Exactly what I wanted: just lets me enter what I ate, when, and how many carbs. No food database to fight with and waste time on, and when I start typing it suggests foods I've used before. I choose which items to enter and track (eg carbs, calories, protein). Shows running daily total, averages, etc. Very intuitive UI. Thank you for this app, you have helped me get my health back.
Its predecessor has helped me lose 30 pounds, and this new version looks just as good. Whether you reach your goal or not, count the calories! This app makes it as easy as possible. Later: All I wanted was calories, not the other nutrients, so I delayed switching from Simple Calorie Counter. Now I see that Diet Diary is just as easy as SCC for calories, and it counts them better, e.g after I record one food it suggests recording the other food I usually have with it. The Graphs are very helpful with the red and green bars--glad they took the yellow out--and the average line.
I liked the old app so I really put off this one I don't like change. It's ad-free and fully featured. No need to make a profile, search for brands (or at all), and has options to include any macro and how you want to display them next to the name or not. it shows remaining or total. With a toggle. It's basically perfect and I plan to buy the premium version for the dark theme."
