Play this online game named HGuide: Old Edinburgh.

This historical guidebook application allows you to view historic maps of Edinburgh from 1647 and 1765 with pin markers allowing you to get more information on the buildings that once stood there: their history and images.
The application also contains a zoomable and scrollable engraving of old Edinburgh.

Press the map title at the top of the screen to switch between the maps easily and view your current location on the historic maps. You can also compare the historical maps with a stored modern map of Edinburgh to see the changes the city has gone through.

It is completely free and no Internet (data) connection is required so the maps are quick to refresh and scroll through.

Updates:

V1.3: Image display improved on smaller sized devices.
V1.4: Added a gallery menu option with images of Edinburgh and added an additional zoom layer for the engraving.
