Was refreshing myself on rules before introducing the game to new players and instantly shared this with even my veterans. This is the best combat summary I've seen since I started playing. The only downfall is that during play it can be a bit clunky if you used digital character sheets like my groups do.
This is the quintessential quick combat rule check destination. If your DM allows technology at the table, this is your go to for rule disputes. I saw one review correcting some of the entries, apparently not realizing you have to tap the entry to see the actual rule. The dodge and dash actions, for example, have a summary of the actions' in game effects for reference, but you'll need to tap to see the true mechanical effects of the rules.
A most excellent reference! Adjudicating actions in combat is one of the most challenging parts of DMing, and having this no frills reference in a easy to use format is a superb aid. Color coded and tabulated, this app stands out among many similar ones.
`1. Dodge ≠ increase Defenses (AC). Dodge = Become harder to Hit (Disadvantage on Attacks against you). 2. Dash ≠ Double Movement Speed. Dash = Increase Movement rate. (Dash adds your Speed to your Movement again. The two are separate Attributes. If you use Longstrider you get 10 Speed, which means Dash adds another 10 as well; this would be compounded by Haste, which actually doubles your Speed) 3. Attacking whilst Prone has Disadvantage, but is not mentioned in the Effects that impose Disadvantage on Attacks section of the Attack Action. 4. The latest errata (10th Publishing Version) of 5th Edition changed the rules for Readied Actions: "You may only Ready an Action until the Start of your next Turn." (although I have strong disagreement with this ruling, as the Spellcasters get ROYALLY screwed over if their Trigger is not achieved before the start of their next Turn, and they are already screwed over because they consumed an appropriate Spell Slot for the Spell, not as bad if it's a Cantrip, but far worse if it is Haste)`,Great reference app. Especially appreciate that each entry has the page number in PHB where the info comes from. Really neat and useful.'
