The Qikit app accepts traditional words or Qikit words, or both interchangeably. We even provide 39 shortcuts for commonly used words where you put in the appropriate single letter with a space and it writes the full word for you.

A special letter , has been added that can be used to replace uncertain vowels and unstressed vowels. Using to denote unstressed vowels helps pronunciation as well as assuring the word is not misspelled. All clearly sounded vowels are easy to distinguish, and will be used as they sound.

Phonics is the relationship of a sound to a visual symbol and eliminating multiple letters for single sounds is the key.
