Bangalore Tamil Sangam started 65 years ago stands tall among many other Tamil Sangam not only in Karnataka but in the entire India .

It is a voluntary organization ventured for promoting Tamil Language, Culture and Literatures but in course of time it was transformed into a socio- Linguistic organization,

We device our programmes and activities to achieve our goals not only to promote Tamil Language, Culture and arts but also for harmonious relationship between various groups of people living in the State .

Bangalore Tamil Sangam is the prime institution to start Kananda classes before (50) fifty years for non Kannadigas and we are continuing the classes till date with great success benefiting several thousands of non Kannadigas, We also celebrate Kananda Rajyotsava every year. Department of Kannada and culture helps us in this regard by sending cultural troupes to perform programmes in our Sangam.

Bangalore Tamil Sangam celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava every year in a grand manner. An endowment is established in our Sangam to felicitate a Kannadiga who strives for the harmony between Kannadigas and Tamils. During 2015 celebration, we honored Sri K.T.Chikkanna, former Director, Department of Kannada and Culture

Apart from Kananda we also teach Tamil to willing persons. We also conduct various classes like Karnatic music, Instruments, Bharatha Natyam, Yoga, Karate, and preserve the culture and heritage of our country.



After the unveiling of Saint Thiruvalluvar Statue at the present venue on 9th August 2009 due to the steps taken by the then Honble Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri B.S. Eddiyurappa and the then Honble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Sri Karunanidhi, we started celebrating Thiruvalluvar day by organizing massive procession every during the month of January. This is conducted as a function of Kannada Tamil Harmony in which several dignitaries participate. Party leaders from various political parties, ministers, MPs, MLAs. Mayor of BBMP, corporators participate in Thiruvalluvar Day Function.

v We provide free Homeopathy Treatment regularly to needy patients including medicines.

v Free Yoga treatment for specific problems is also treated every Wednesday.

v Tamil Sangam also organize free health check-up camps joining hands with top hospitals in the city and serve the public with quality treatment.

v Recently Translated Tamil Literatures of Sangam age into Kannada with a grant from Central Institute of Classical Tamil. In appreciation of our services the department of Kannada and culture donated 1000 Kananda books to our Library.

v Our Library named after POET SARVAJNA consist of more than 50,000 books, we also run a reading room with most of the dailies and magazines.

v Bangalore Tamil Sangam has been publishing every month Tamil Magazine in the Name of Ootru and send it to all Sangam members to free of cost.

v We are running a Tamil Medium High School under the name of our great National Leader Shri. K. KAMARAJ. Since the students of the School are, mainly from BPL families we provide mid-day meals, note books, uniforms, school bags, shoes etc., at free of cost. To fulfill this dream we constructed additional facilities in our school premises with 25 class rooms, assembly hall and an auditorium in the 3rd floor with the donations of Philanthropists.
